Bill Oades co-founded Ad Astra Equity Advisors after several years quarterbacking M&A deals for another Kansas City area shop. Bill was a serial entrepreneur long before he started consulting business owners during their transitions. He started Oades Brothers Tire & Auto in 1987 – and sold the repair shops to his sons in 2019. This followed a 16-year career with Mobil Oil Corporation (now ExxonMobil), where Bill first went to work after graduating from Rockhurst University. He moved his family around the country for Mobil, advising numerous individuals in their ownership / operation / and exits of service stations and convenience stores.
During the past 30 plus years, Bill also bought and sold several local businesses and developed real estate in town. Since day one, Bill has taught his teams to put customers first as the right way to grow and sustain the businesses.
Bill and his wife Peggy raised their 6 children who all now call KC home, along with their 24 grandchildren. Bill and Peggy have been very active and proud parishioners of the Church of the Nativity in Leawood, KS for over 35 years. He enjoys playing mediocre golf and escaping to Lake of the Ozarks whenever possible.
